Cowl-Neck Pullover - Seasonless Zealana
I worked this lace pattern pullover in Zealana's Tui yarn, a scrumptious blend of 70% NZ merino, 15% cashmere and 15% possum fiber. Knit on a US size 10 needle, it is worked in the round up to the armholes with waist shaping for a nice fit. The sleeves are also worked in the round, starting at the ribbing, then joined to the body for a seamless garment - there is very little finishing to be done on this garment - oh good!

Plaid Hoodie - Knitter's Magazine Winter 2010
I chose to create a great textured plaid using regular and elongated slip stitches, against a classic silhouette.
The earthy palette is composed of amber, rust and chocolate tones of Rowan Lima, a chainette constructed yarn of baby alpaca, merino wool and a bit of nylon.
The jacket is worked in one piece to the underarm so as not to disturb the pattern stitch, then the fronts and back are worked separately.
Man's Vest - Knitter's Magazine Winter 2010
This V-neck man's vest mimics the plaid stitch pattern of the hoodie above. Three colors of Manos Del Uruguay Wool Clasica Naturals Yarn were chosen for their rustic and earthy tones.
This is an easy design that knits up fairly quickly on US size 8 needles.
Color Band Cardigan - Vogue Knitting - Fall 2010 issue
Color Band Cardi - design #25
This design was featured in the Home on the Prairie theme for Vogue Knitting Fall 2010 - the palette and patterns of the American landscape.
I designed this loose-fitting boxy cardigan in a southwest color palette, inspired by the traditional Navajo blanket patterns.

Brilla Drape-Front Jacket
This dramatic and modern jacket will turn heads everywhere you go. The fullness in the lower bodice is carefully controlled with deep pleats and a delicate lace pattern finishes the sleeves and hem.
I designed this jacket using Filatura Di Crosa Brilla, a very drapey yet durable cotton/viscose blend - one of my all-time favorite spring/summer yarns.
The pattern is available in the Filatura Di Crosa Spring/Summer Collection 2009 booklet. Click here to purchase from the TSC website, or visit your local yarn shop.
Ruffled Drape-Front Jacket - FREE pattern download
This design graced the cover of the S. Charles Collezione Fall/Winter 2008 pattern book, and it sold out in a matter of weeks! It's ava ilable as a FREE Pattern from TSC - click here to download the PDF.
The style is flattering on any body shape, and can be worn open or pinned to one side. It is knit side-to-side with a center back seam providing a pleasing vertical line. And of course, I had to add my signature ruffle edges! Shown here in Ritratto, a combination of a softly brushed mohair, elegantly painted viscose, and a thin strand of metallic. The colors are totally yummy.
Boatneck Pullover with Ruffles
I originally came up with this easy top when I owned Knitting Arts, and taught workshops designed at taking the basic scarf knitter to the next level - a flattering garment that was easy and fun!
It is made with Filatura Di Crosa Brilla yarn, a cotton/viscose blend in a large color palette, on a US size 5 needle. The pieces are knit in stockinette stitch - no shaping on the body or the sleeves, and then stitches dropped at the bind off row to create the open work. The fabric creates its own shaping when worn (similar to knitted ribbing).
Cropped Cardigan
This cropped cardigan is knit from the top down, in one piece - no seams! Using Filatura Di Crosa Curly, it knits up quickly on US size 11 needles. There is a decorative very easy openwork design at the bottom and sleeve edges.
Curly is a crimped, printed wool twisted with a brightly-multicolored viscose creating a bouclé-effect yarn. TSC has discontinued this yarn, but you can substitute any bulky yarn that provides the same gauge.
Pattern available in the Filatura di Crosa Fall/Winter 2008 Collection booklet. Click here to purchase from the TSC website, or visit your local yarn shop.
Ruffled-Sleeve Cardigan with Peplum
This silhouette really flatters the figure! Knit side-to-side in Filatura di Crosa Gioiello, it dresses up a pair of jeans or heads into evening with a hint of sparkle. The flare of the peplum and sleeve bottom is accomplished by using larger size needles (no increases!)
Gioiello is a fingering weight mohair blended with soft, shimmering metallic thread, available in a variety of multi-color shades.

Viridian Blocks - Knitter's Magazine Spring 2010
This summer cardigan is created with two differently knit fabrics. The sleeves and back have a slip-stitch textured pattern that contract beautifully with the openwork front.
Knit with Universal Yarn Cotton Supreme on US size 8 needles and sized for Small - 2X.
